Jackie Levin, faculty
Jackie is a Clinical Nurse Specialist and has integrated holisic nursing strategies into every health care arena for more than 20 years. She was the founding Program Director of the NYU Medical Center’s MindBody Educaion & Patient Care Program in New York City where she developed unit‐based and hospital wide
educational programs on holistic care; facilitated ongoing wellness programs for nurse managers,
directors and staff; as well as consulted in pain and stress management for patients and families.
Currently, Jackie is a consultant, educator and coach for nurses and organizations that wish to
integrate holistic strategies into self and patient care, as well as the Nurse Educator and Clinical Care Coordinator for Jefferson Healthcare Home Health and Hospice in Port Townsend, Washington. A particular passion is guiding nurses on nature and urban‐based retreats to discover the power of our environment to bring out our own unique strengths and passion in nursing. She believes that not only do we love what we do, we can enjoy doing it, too!
Patti Lind, Faculty
With over 25 years experience coaching individuals and teams on communicating effectively, Pati has
the know‐how to bring positive change to your workplace. In particular, she has a keen understanding of
the health care industry and the unique challenges faced by its workforce. Pati has recently worked
with Kaiser Permanente, The Oregon Clinic, State of Oregon Food and Safety Division, The Doctor’s
Company, State of Oregon Board of Nursing, Northwest Permanente, NW Cancer Specialists, Women’s
Health Center of Oregon, Cascade Medical Group, Eye Health Northwest, Salem Gastroenterology
Consultants, Southwest Family, and the Oregon Primary Care Associaon. Pati received her Bachelor’s
degree in Interpersonal Communication from Boise State University. She continued studies at Ohio State
University, where she received her Master’s degree in Organizational Communication. Pati has been on
faculty at Marylhurst University for 25 years and has taught classes at Ohio State University, Portland
State University and Chemeketa Community College.
Tim Borne, Faculty
Tim is an executive organizational development consultant with Kaiser Permanente Northwest region. He
is leading the change management effort in the Northwest region on the Medical Home implementaon,
which will transform primary care in the Northwest region. Tim has considerable expertise in the areas of
conflict management, dealing with difficult behavior, interpersonal effectiveness, and influence skills for
leaders. Time is also an adjunct professor at Marylhurst University and Pacific University where he
teaches communication skills in both the graduate and undergraduate programs.
Cindy Shank, Program Manager
Cindy brings over 15 years of retreat center experience and has a background in banking and law. Cindy’s
