Ms. De Anda is a graduate of a Providence College nursing program. She has been an active RN working within ambulatory and hospital settings during the past 38 years.

As a hospital staff nurse, her experiences have included providing direct patient care in areas such as pediatric emergency room and hematology-oncology clinics, as well as adult emergency room, dialysis, medical surgical, orthopedic, ob-gyn, and geriatrics. In the late 1970’s she contributed to the development and implementation of Salem’s Hospital first dialysis unit.

Within the community health/ambulatory nursing arenas, she has worked in Oregon and Washington’s public health sectors serving Limited English Proficient (LEP clients). During her employment with Marion County Health Department, she became an active member of the counties diversity committee advocating for the LEP clients served, and for increasing the numbers of under-represented healthcare providers.

As Program Coordinator and mentor she was given the opportunity to develop and implement programs that increased diversity in the health professions. During this time she worked in partnership with Oregon’s educational institutions, healthcare providers, and workforce development sectors throughout the state. Within the nine years, she was grateful to have witnessed the graduation of many diverse students in the pursuit of their dreams.Currently she is taking a medical leave from Legacy’s foot care services.
